I originally had plans to make tacos for dinner the other night and then as I was getting ready to start cooking, I had an idea. Taco Burgers! I honestly don’t know why I haven’t made these before. They were so easy and such a fun way to get my taco fix! (I am a bit obsessed) The kids loved it and my husband even gave me the “good game” high five after his first couple bites. While they frequently get fun new food to try, there are a few recipes that I know will get requested again in the near future. This will certainly be one of them!
Taco Burgers
2 pounds ground beef
2 packages taco seasoning
6 hamburger buns (for 1/3 pound burgers)
Toppings:
Shredded lettuce
Shredded cheese
Sliced tomato
Pickled jalapenos
Taco sauce
Sour cream
Directions:
In a small mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and the taco seasoning. Mix with hands until evenly combined. Try not to over mix. Divide the beef into the number of patties you would like. Form the patties and be sure to make a slight indentation in the center of each patty so that, when the patty expands as it cooks, your burger will be flat and not domed.
Grill the patties until they have reached your desired level of doneness. Grill the buns. Remove both from the grill, place the burgers inside of the buns and add your toppings. Enjoy!
