Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

These potatoes are a go-to in my house for holidays, parties, or anytime when I just feel like I don’t want to be making the potatoes at the last minute!

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

5 lbs red potatoes

2-3 cloves garlic, whole, peeled

1 stick butter, salted

¼ teaspoon cracked black pepper

8 ounces sour cream

8 ounces cream cheese

2 teaspoons chicken soup base, I use Better than Boullion

Directions:

In a large pot, cover potatoes with water and bring to a boil. Boil until tender and cooked through.  Place potatoes in the crockpot. Add remaining ingredients and use a hand masher until desired consistency is reached.  Potatoes will hold well on low for 4-6 hours.  Stirring occasionally.
