Baked party sandwiches are one of my favorite guilty-pleasure foods, and they’re just perfect for fall and football season.
Health food, these are not, but biting into one of the warm, melty, toasted miniature sandwiches is good for your mental health — which is just as important, right?
I like to make these sandwiches when we have company because they can be prepped a few hours ahead and then popped into the oven when the crowd arrives. They’re so quick and easy you even can make them while you visit with your friends and family.
These party sandwiches are perfect for chilly fall weather and football! My family goes nuts over these sandwiches because it’s the best of both worlds….toasted subs and pizza!
Baked Pizza & Garlic Butter Party Sandwiches
1 package of a dozen Hawaiian dinner rolls
¾ cup pizza sauce
3 ounces large pepperoni (2½- to 3-inch)
3 ounces sliced salami (2½- to 3-inch)
12 slices deli mozzarella cheese
1½ sticks salted butter, melted
1½ tablespoons dried onion flakes
½ teaspoon garlic powder
⅓ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Slice Hawaiian rolls in half, leaving the tops and bottoms attached. Place the bottoms in a greased 9-by-13 baking pan. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the bottom layer of rolls. Top each roll with a slice of salami, pepperoni, and mozzarella cheese. Place the tops over the sandwiches.
In a small bowl, whisk together the butter, onion flakes and garlic powder. Pour the melted butter mixture over the top of the sandwiches. Use a pastry brush to make sure all the buns are coated.
Cover the pan with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking another 8-10 minutes or until the sandwiches are golden brown, slightly crisp on top and the cheese is melted.
Remove the pan from the oven and let the sandwiches sit for 5 minutes. Cut into individual sandwiches and serve.
